Ember for Pharmacy: a POS for drugstores
A counter that finds a medicine by brand or generic, sells it by the piece, banig or box, and never sells an expired batch. Behind it, a stock watch that says what to order and what will expire before it sells.
The counter
- Type a brand, a generic name or a strength, or scan the barcode. Each medicine shows its generic, strength, form, maker, stock and nearest expiry.
- The same generic in other brands sits right beside it, cheapest first, so the customer who asks for something cheaper gets an answer in one look.
- Sell by the piece, the banig or the box. All three come out of one stock counted in pieces.
- A batch past its date is never sold. The earliest good batch always goes first.
- Prescription medicines ask for the doctor and patient details, and a partly filled prescription remembers what is still owed to the patient.
- Senior and PWD discounts, cash, GCash, Maya and card.
Stock that thinks ahead
- Deliveries are received with their lot numbers and expiry dates.
- Stock watch races every batch against how fast that medicine really sells. It tells you which boxes will expire unsold, and the last day your supplier still takes them back.
- It gives the day to order each medicine and how many boxes, never more than you can sell before the date.
- It counts the sales you missed while a medicine sat at zero, and what customers asked for that you did not have.
- A short daily count of a few lines, so the whole shelf gets counted without closing for a stocktake.
- An expiry page for the weekly walk along the shelves: pull out what has expired in one tap.
The books
- A prescription book and a dangerous drug book, filled as you sell and never edited afterwards. Print them or download them as a spreadsheet.
- Senior and PWD medicine discounts added up by maker and supplier, as an estimate for your accountant.
Your whole product list, in one go
Bring in thousands of products from a spreadsheet. Ember fills in the generic name, strength and form from the product name where it can, and gives you a sheet to check the rest.
Branches and the back office
Each branch has its own stock and its own books. The back office at emberpos.net/office shows Stock watch, expiry and the prescription book for every branch from a computer. When one branch has boxes that will expire before they sell, Stock watch says which branch sells them faster, and sends them there with their lot and date.
