#208Stock & recipe costing
Stock that follows every sale, and a cost on every recipe
The main idea of Ember POS: when an order is paid, every ingredient in it comes out of your stock by itself. No counting at the end of the day.

Recipes
- Each menu item has a recipe, including sizes, add-ons, and takeout cups or boxes. Weight and volume convert exactly: grams and kilos, millilitres and litres, or packs.
- Every recipe is costed from what you pay, so you see the profit on each item and your food and paper cost.
Deliveries and counts
- When a delivery arrives, staff count what came; stock, costs and the bill follow what they counted, and the report shows any shortfall from what you ordered.
- Count stock while you keep selling, or pause selling while you count. Ember shows what went missing, and stops obvious mistakes before they are saved.
Buying
The Shopping List looks at how fast each ingredient is used and tells you what to buy, in packs, grouped by supplier. Tick what you want and it becomes a purchase order.
Questions
Can it track things we make ourselves, like sauces?
Yes. Give the item its own recipe; when you make a batch, the raw ingredients come out and the finished item goes in at its real cost.
