BIR tax help for small shops: your figures, ready for your accountant

Ember POS already knows your sales, refunds, voids and costs. The BIR tax page in the Back Office (emberpos.net/office, under Money) turns them into estimates of your quarterly returns, so your accountant does not start from zero.

What it works out

Checks before an audit

Missing or repeated invoice numbers, voids and refunds well above your usual, a sharp drop in sales, sales declared well below what your POS recorded, unregistered books, and how close you are to the ₱3,000,000 VAT threshold.

Books of accounts

Prints the sales journal, cash receipts journal, cash disbursements journal and general journal on numbered pages with your name and TIN, ready to bind and register in ORUS. Each also downloads as a spreadsheet.

What it does not do

Ember files nothing with the BIR, and every figure is an estimate to confirm with your accountant. Ember POS is not a BIR-accredited cash register or POS. Many small shops use it to run the shop and keep their BIR-registered receipt booklet; ask your accountant what your registration needs.
